We (Earthen Street) are eco friendly, sustainable and handmade stationery and lifestyle product brand. Earthen Street offers wide range of Tree-Free stationery and lifestyle products, specially created for a sustainable, guilt free and zero waste lifestyle.
Our paper is made using cotton rags generated as wastes from textile industries. Each product is made locally in India thus empowering rural ecosystem and rejuvenating traditional practice of paper making.
Aim
Our aim is to provide users an alternative to generally used paper by offering them tree free eco friendly, sustainable paper product so they do not feel guilty while using that with eco friendly sustainable choices.
Offering
All our notebooks are 100% eco friendly, sustainable and tree free. It is made by recycling cotton fabric rags which gets generated as a waste while making apparels. Thus utilising the textile wastage which would have been otherwise dumped in the landfill and ends in polluting the environment.
Paper making process
The process of traditional eco friendly, sustainable handmade paper begins with collecting the waste cotton rags which are leftovers while making of apparels. Then it is sorted using screens. After this, these cotton rags are shredded into small pieces using the shredder machine.
The small particles of cotton rags are then fed into the pulp making machine for pulping process. These are rotated for around 2-3 hours till soft pulp is obtained.
Soft pulp is then manually screened to obtained particular thickness from water pulp mixture. The screened paper is then covered with cloth and the set of papers are pressed till excess water is removed.
The cloth is separated and papers are kept for drying. The dried papers are then calendared for smoothness and fineness. From these papers, we make various eco-friendly products like hardbound notebook, softbound notebook, diary, notepad, to do list, monthly jotter etc.
